The former fishing village is about 300 years old. Politically the Muban Nai Plao belong to the district of Khanom (ขนอม).

In today’s time the people deserve their income in this region primarily with the cultivation of rubber trees (extraction of pure rubber), oil palm (palm oil) and coconut palms (coconuts). Some fruits and vegetables will also be planted, even a few people still go out for fishing.
Nai Plao has five smaller supermarkets, they offer you the essentials for the daily life.
For tourists there are also items available such as sun cream, swim rings, note paper, potato chips, alcohol, tobacco, toilet paper and much more.
